John Edwards said Sunday that he would like Bill Clinton to play a role in his administration, and called it a "complete fantasy" that the former president would not play a part in his wife's administration if she were to win.

I find Hillary's saying this about Bill curious. I guess she is now triangulating her husband! She wants his vote-getting powers, but is not so sure he should have that big a role, at least not that we should know about, but he will be important, but he will not be on the security....DANG!

52. I'd almost like to believe

it was one of my posts on that subject weeks ago about the flip side of the Bill legacy being that he will overshadow and/or be used to overshadow the first woman in the WH. He is simply too big and needed not to. The asset will turn into a political liability after election day if not before. Any other candidate of course could use Bill effectively without the shadow. Simply thinking one could reverse the team and everything would function as well or better than before is wishful thinking- besides the changing times themselves.

There was some controversy when JFK made his brother AG and Bobby's anti-Mafia crusade, whether his brother OK'd it or not, and some big trouble happened behind the scenes. With Bill it will always be out in the open, in cabinet or not, unless Hillary brutally dissolves the team. This co-presidency thing will not fly very well this time, I would guess, as any floundering with gaffes by either spouse seems to confirm much to the dismay of us all for her future candidacy and presidency.

Anything besides the discomforting handling of the "team" aspect that would shake the sand out of people's eyes will help us look at THAT inevitability now will help. I am not sure from recent statements if the Clintons are totally in sync how this will work out. So Edwards' point could be a lot bigger than it is cute.

4. Hillary didn't lie! She was asked if Bill would have an official position

in her admin. She said NO. She explaned TWICE NOW, that he would an advisor, the same as she was one of HIS advisors while he was President. Almost ALL spouses play an advisor role. She was also asked if SHE ever attended NSC meetings and she said NO! The next question was would Bill be allowed to attend Security meetings, and she said NO, that would not be appropriate.

You folks all sound like Pubs when you read what you WANT to hear into Hillary's answers!

him to head some special envoy or good will abassador to help repair our image in the World, I think that would be HER failure! He's very good a making friends and calming people down. Lest you forget, when Bill traveled, there were NO demonstrations AGAIST him! Everyone loved him! NOW, Shrub is talkng about doing a lot of traveling throughout the World in his last year. I question where the hell he's going to go? Everywhere HE goes, there are big demonstrations AGAINST HIM! Nobody wants him around!

Bush is soooo hated everywhere he goes it's much more difficult and expensive to protect him and it's so sickening to know how much money it's going to cost us to protect him the rest of his nasty life. (only fooling Agent Mike) Bush has to have whole towns blocked off to protect him and he still doesn't trust them as he sometimes stays overnight on a nearby battleship because he knows how much he's detested by the world. a truly charismatic representative of our way of life and best ideals, who better than Bill Clinton who has earned respect around the world for his magnificent mind and his real concern for his fellow man. Bill Clinton is not a phony; he is a self-made man of the people. Obviously he will help Hillary, but she is also a very bright individual, who naturally does not want to be seen as fronting for an unConstitutional 3rd term for Bill. Quit criticizing Hillary for doing things to win. Every single candidate is doing what he/she can to win. It is why each is running. We are very fortunate to have such extraordinary candidates on our side, any one of which will be a stellar president. The downfall of our great democratic experiment will come if we, the Democratic Party, do NOT win.
