Kerry Hailed as Ally of Wider World on Environment
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=584&ncid=584&e=9&u=/nm/20040218/pl_nm/campaign_kerry_environment_dc

OSLO (Reuters) - Environmentalists fete John Kerry (news - web sites) as a possible savior in a stalled battle against global warming if the Democratic front-runner topples President Bush (news - web sites) in the November election.

"Kerry has probably been the greatest champion of climate change issues with (Joe) Lieberman in the U.S. Senate," said Jennifer Morgan, director of the WWF environmental group's climate change program.

European governments, among the strongest backers of the U.N.'s stalled 1997 Kyoto protocol meant to limit global warming, would welcome a shift toward Kerry's environmental policies after years of transatlantic feuds with Bush.

"Clearly we would like the new administration, whether Republican or Democrat, to come closer to European policies on the environment in particular," said Diego de Ojeda, a spokesman for the European Union (news - web sites)'s executive Commission in Brussels.

7. No, accepting contributions from foreign nationals is not legal
From the FEC:

http://www.fec.gov/pages/brochures/contrib.htm#Prohibited%20Contributions

Foreign Nationals
Contributions and donations may not be solicited,11 accepted, or received from, or made directly or indirectly by, foreign nationals who do not have permanent residence in the United States (i.e., those without green cards). This prohibition encompasses all US elections; including federal, state and local elections. 11 CFR 110.20(b).

11The term “solicit” means, “to ask that another person make a contribution, donation, transfer of funds, or otherwise provide anything of value, whether is to be made or provided directly, or through a conduit or intermediary.” 11 CFR 110.20(a)(6) and 300.2(m).

(Before anybody flames me, I'm not saying that Kerry is doing this. I'm just answering the question.)

10. He voted for the war
Edited on Fri Feb-20-04 06:01 AM by JNelson6563
No matter how you dance around it, and don't bother linking to cesspools, I try to avoid them dear.

Yep, Kerry was against the war before, during and after his vote for the war. He wouldn't even vote for Carl Levin's amendment to keep the boy king in check.

Oy!
