Roadside bomb kills 2 soldiers, one Iraqi

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A roadside bomb Thursday morning killed two U.S. soldiers and one Iraqi near Khaldiya, west of Baghdad, a coalition military spokesman said.

The attack happened at 10:30 a.m. (2:30 a.m. ET), the spokesman said.

5. Leap Year in Iraq

By the end of the month, there will be 35-40 (and maybe more) American soldiers - young men and women in their prime of life, healthy, with families, friends and colleagues, full of love and laughter - who will be dead. Dead. Because of this war. Almost a guarantee at this point. These will be the February dead - the first February dead, and one can only hope the only February dead.

Think of them now, nervously fingering a trigger, or relaxing on a berm, or playing soccer with some kids, or reading a magazine. See them sitting in their cots, or scanning the deadly horizon, or writing a letter. They will be dead before the end of the month. LOOK INTO THEIR FACES. Sad vision.

12. The HUMVEES with non re enforced steel doors

and when the kids in the trucks sit in them and an explosion occurs as they pass by, they are killed and maimed. Because the doors are not re enforced with steel.
If they are going to stick our kids over there for no damn reason, they could at least protect them.
I screamed all day on the phone yesterday at Congress. this has to stop. At least demand they have safe doors on the goddamn Humvees.
Another family will now have a car drive into their driveway with 2 military personnel giving them the news.

When the phone doesnt ring and no one drives into my driveway, each day, I sigh that we made it through another day.

I looked at Lunaville and in the last week the number of wounded jumped by 47. The wounded soldiers, although not all take a person out have to be piling up, every person taken off the line makes it that much more dangerous for those left.
