Is anyone watching CSPAN with Paul Weyrich

Isn't he a major Freeper? I haven't heard one call disagreeing with him. CPSAN is letting in only people who agree with him and I've been watching about 10 minutes. What's going on?

He makes sense on some issues but, I read he's a founding memeber of the Heritage Foundation. I've never heard of him before. Anyone offer to post a little more background on this man?

3. Paul Weyrich is a Christian Reconstructionist!!

His utmost wish is to make America a Christian nation...with Biblical law. He wants everyone to abide by Biblical principles, including stoning homosexuals and adulterers. I'll look for links. DO NOT be deceived by this man; he is one of the most dangerous people on the planet, Osama Bin Laden notwithstanding!! I'll post again with links.

That's why I was shocked that he wasn't flooded with calls opposing him. Every call I heard (and I only heard about the last 10 minutes) were totally supporting him.

If you don't know about Paul Weyrich and what he and his minions have been up to, you really need to read up. These people are also involved in Diebold and ES&S, two companies that will virtually control the next election!! Their mode of operation is to believe that they can do ANYTHING they want and it will be justified because they are doing "God's work". They also hate women and gays and believe that slavery is okay because the Bible says so.

7. He sounds like he's trying to build an image as a "reasonable" person.

I too was wondering what's up. I've heard about him, but never seen him before--thought he was intent on being a behind-the-scenes type. (Sorry, I can't remember his resume--but it's definitely far RW and I think also fundie.)

Apparently, the reason he's there on C-Span is his lawsuit to open up the Pres. debates to 3rd party candidates. And he did mention Nader--so I wonder if they aren't hoping for a Nader run. But if, as a fundie, he is somewhat opposed to the neocons, maybe having a credible 3rd party threat to hold over * is a way to fight that battle.

Anyway, I was waiting for a call that exposed him for what he is, and it never came. It was definitely odd.

EDIT--ah, the Xian Reconstructionists! Yeah, I knew he was way out on the fringe--really off the edge. But doesn't C-Span have a duty to tell the viewers ALL the affiliations of a person? at least all that are politically significant? Thanks, people, for the links. This time, I'll save them.

I really do wonder what he's doing out in front of the cameras now, and what this portends.

I watched a little bit of this guy and I thought he sounded reasonable, but wondered who he was. His name sounded familiar but I couldn't recall his organization. If he has anything to do with that wacko site someone listed above...CHALCEDON...he's NUTS! Exerpt from front page:
