McCaskill presses GOP to reveal secret holds

McCaskill said a total of about 80 nominees have passed through various committees without objection but have been held up on the Senate floor by various GOP senators who are trying to use them as bargaining chips.

McCaskill said that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has been very supportive of the effort to force GOP lawmakers to own up to placing secret holds.

Just say we believe that Senator John McCain has put the holds on the noms.

2. I saw Senator McCaskill on CSPAN this morning.

She was great. She explained in detail how the GOP Senators are putting anonymous holds on nominees, then when the six day period is up and whomever doing the holding is supposed to be identified, they withdraw the hold and another Senator places a hold for six more days, and so on and so forth. She likened it to a "tag team". Then she got through about 15 nominees, forcing Vile Kyl to have to object to each one. The GOP Senators are a despicable bunch. Their obstructionism was in full view today.

5. This is something which will never be mentioned on M$M - about how the GOP members pass it around

to keep the hold in place.

THose mother-fuckers should have to identify themselves... and they ought to have a recorded reason for the hold.


Yet they always ask Obama or any Dem how come OBAMA hasn't delivered on bi-partisan promise.

They also will never mention how the GOP filibustered 80% of significant legislation in Obama's first year!
