Does the Senate miss Hilary ?

I've been thinking lately H.R. Clinton would have been better off serving the administration in the Senate
than as SOS. She knows most all of the democrats and republicans and I can't help but think she would have had
a way of steering some thoughts on both sides making for less conversation and faster passage of the legislations
passed and on the horizon. She seems to be doing a great job as SOS but I feel her real power would have been best
used talking out about all that is happening here at home.

I feel the same. I'm happy with her current work, but she could be "utilized" much more efficiently. Maybe she'll get back into the Senate eventually.

2. can you give examples based on her past terms?

I mean, you're RIGHT in one sense, HRC was great at agreeing with Bush and the GOP hawks as she used her exalted powers of persuasion to convince other Dem lawmakers to side with Bush, too.

And, I also remember how she used her cache to argue against the filibuster of Alito behind closed doors of Dem caucus and then publically claimed the next day to be for a filibuster. Damage was already done, though, as she and Schumer gave the fencesitters the cover they needed.

If you can put up examples of how Senator Clinton led GOPs to agree with a progressive Dem issue, I'd surely appreciate the effort.

3. How different would she have been the Gillibrand, really?

In the Senate, she was a middle-of-the-road Democrat (and to the right on defense/war)....I like her much better as SOS.

4. I like her as SOS. The world if pretty ****ed up right now and I cannot imagine anyone else

doing such a good job as SOS. She makes me feel secure about the future.
