NewCon Game

The NewCons game plan is right on schedule. They have anesthetized the doddering masses to the concept of preemptive war. The new conventional wisdom is that the “intelligence failures” must be investigated. Meanwhile, the stage is being set for “heads to roll” as Dick Perle of Darkness opines in a recent newspaper column.

At work here is the NewCon wet dream of complete political control over the intelligence process, in effect the transformation of data based intelligence to strategic intelligence, the office of Perpetual War if you will. This has been the stated goal of the Cons for many years now.

In essence, no matter who becomes President, the meme has been released and it is replicating. There will be tremendous pressure inside the Government to “reorganize” the intelligence community. While there are a small handful, including myself, that lay the blame for these fiascos to the unrelenting meddling of the US in the affairs of sovereign nations for many decades, the underlying mindset of the crumbling Amerikan empire is that Sept 11th demands more, not less interventionism. It is as though we attempt to cure our lung cancer by smoking “pure, unadulterated” cigarettes.

The real question is whether our not interventionism, “intelligent” or otherwise, is in our strategic interest, or even our Constitutional mandate. The frame has been deliberately changed to how aggressive we should be in shoving our “democratic regimes” down other people’s throats. I’m sure Presidents Aristide and Chavez would be happy to weigh in on regime change, if they weren’t so busy dodging bullets from “freedom fighters.”

Why do they hate us…indeed.
