.... is that it is simply remarking that cultural mores are at least in large part perspectival - in the eye of the beholder....

there may also be a sarcastic swipe at the right, to wit, playing on their fear that homos are trying to take over the country and make everyone gay...

this guy has drawn cartoons in the past showing a guy getting married to a plant arguing that this is down the line. i doubt he's arguing in favor of gay marriage.

Well then he's not a very good cartoonist. I saw the cartoon as a very clear swipe at the conservative groups trying to get the courts to stop gay marriages.

If that's not what he meant, then I'm sure he confused a LOT of people.

1. idiots who think gays have an agenda to push their gayhood onto others

2. idiots who think beasitiality and marrying plants is equivalent to gay marriage

3. the riculousness of the term "sanctity of marriage"

4. and as said before, the absurdity of fighting gay marriage by showing how absurd fighting regular marriage would be
