Another Goebbels quote worth looking at
I thought this was interesting and wanted to share it -- it's an excerpt from The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich:

For the first time—in the last relatively free election Germany was to have—the Nazi Party now could employ all the vast resources of the government to win votes. Goebbels was jubilant. "Now it will be easy," he wrote in his diary on February 3, "to carry on the fight, for we can call on all the resources of the State. Radio and press are at our disposal. We shall stage a masterpiece of propaganda. And this time, naturally, there is no lack of money."(2)

1. A masterpiece of propaganda
Our only saving grace is the total incompetence of BushCo. If they were as focused and competent as the Nazis, all hope might be lost.

They are going to try to stage their propaganda masterpiece in NYC this summer, and it is going to BLOW UP right in their faces!

2. Name-Calling
Isn't there another Goebbels quotation? I don't have it verbatim, where he says it will always be easy to win an election during a war, or the imminent threat of war -- all one has to do is call the other side unpatriotic, and the people will always side with you.

Like, maybe the Chimp never read a book after college, but Karl Rove and the boys did read a few, like Mein Kampf and Goebbels' speeches, eh?

3. That was big boy Goering...
head of the Luftwaffe.

"Why, of course the people don't want war ... but, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament or a communist dictatorship ... voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger."

5. Good catch
These pieces have fallen nicely into place for them haven't they.

Like this trip to Europe, an affair of state supposedly with a lot of face time showing smirky acting "presidential" getting them Yrupeons on board to do their part in managing Iraq and all at our expense;
Air Force One and the media at his disposal.

It's an uphill battle, but I guess if you make it to the top you get to coast a bit down the other side.
