Letter from the Chairman
Dear California Democrat:
We mourn the passing of former president, Ronald Reagan. He was a great American and while we may have disagreed with many of his policies, we admire his service. His spirit helped give a renewed confidence to our country.
In a moving 1994 open letter to the American people, Reagan informed us that he had Alzheimer's disease. His wife, Nancy, shared a special, loving relationship with her husband. Because of the promise that stem-cell research has shown in the potential treatment of Alzheimer's disease, she has valiantly fought for it, despite the current Administration's opposition to the research.
Please join me in fighting for the passage of the stem cell research initiative that will be on the California ballot in November. Stem cell research holds great promise to ease the suffering of many Americans, who like President Reagan, had to suffer under debilitating conditions.
