"Wilson" was an appropriate middle name for Raygun

How much do you know about President Woodrow Wilson? The man gets a lot of credit for the Treaty of Versailles, leading us through WWI, and trying to get into the League of Nations.

He was also a notorious racist. He opposed women getting the right to vote (he referred to suffragettes as "hussys"). He invaded Central America no less than 16 times.

Anyone know that the United States army actually invaded Russia/Soviet Union? Wilson brought us in an effort to fight communism and bolster the forces of the "White" Russians, thus prolonging the bloodshed of the Bolshevik Revolution for at least a year, maybe two. It could be argued that the Soviets didn't ahte us because we were capitalists -- the Soviets hated us because we had gone to war with them.

I remember seeing an interesting analysis of this during a WWI documentary. It was based on an account by an American soldier, Silver Parrish. (Ironically, actor Timothy Bottoms supplied the voiceover -- he portrayed George W. in that Chetwynd made-for-TV movie a while back -- though I suspect that Bottoms isn't really pro-Bush. Also he's actually gone to Russia and seems to know about that era in history.)

p.s. Parrish later protested the US intervention, and lobbied the government against the presence of US troops in Russia. I think some of today's Iraq War vets would recognize the situation.

I didn't know the name. We also sent forces into the East (Siberia -- Vladivostok) and those forces were allied/accompanied by Japanese troops. I don't know if they ever did any fighting, though.
