TOUGH call if you are undergoing treatment for cancer during the Olympics. Apparently, you will not be able to undergo radiation therapy - because of security.
According to a report in one newspaper, Michalis Antonopulos, the head of the Greek Institute for Nuclear Technology, said that major hospitals had made a deal with police officials not to give cancer patients the treatment until September 20 - unless they sign a waiver that they will allow themselves to be subjected to security tests during the Games.
With so many radiation detectors in evidence to prevent terrorist attacks, they are afraid that patients will set off the devices inadvertently.
