Just back from F-911 in Maryland - tears and cheers
It was great. Not much we didn't already know, but it made us laugh and tore our hearts out.

What's really interesting is hearing all the spin on the "news." What a lot of hysterics! "It's not fair! He didn't show both sides!" It's not fair to show the truth? Should a documentary about Hitler's murders show some "other side?"

It was simply factual -- in fact, it could have hit harder and shown more (I wanted to see Chimp pumping his fist before making the TV speech, but mayber there wasn't footage available; I wanted to see something about the translation of the Bin Laden video that took the government two weeks to "get perfect" and omitted every reference to the Saudi royals; I wanted the seven minutes the Chimp sat in the classroom on 9/11 to elapse in real time while the devastation played out).

I'm wondering whether the GOP can keep sputtering about this all summer. Because this film should get audiences for a long time, and saying "not fair" and "Richard Clarke approved the bin Ladens' flights" is not going to cut it.

1. "Their side", as best we can tell, is a pack of lies, and they've been
telling it the last 3 and 1/2 years and still spinning it. Enough already.

2. At least he had the "Bring it on"...
"Mission Accomplished" and the "Fool me once" scenes in..and so artfully assembled!

Maybe it will get people who listen to mainstream news to think twice when they see bush in one of these photo ops again..ya think?

5. I said that on the way home!
If it gets people to see the fearmongering, fake cowboy, phony patriotic, hollow troop-lauding rhetoric for what it is when they hear it from now until November, that's more than enough. And the clips of the Chimp were GREAT.

6. Where in Maryland?
Heading out there from Michigan for a conference in DC July 10; staying with my ex-wife (and best friend), and we promised each other we would see it together. She lives in Silver Spring, close to Frederick. Where can we catch it?

9. Probably lots of theatres
I saw it in Columbia. I'm sure there's a place you can check online. (We had to get tickets ahead online for tonight -- it was showing on two separate screens simultaneously at 7:30 and 10:30 and all four shows sold out.)

7. They should be scared
It's devastating.

There are, of course, the usual bed-wetters who could never be convinced their glorious leader and savior could do something untoward. The rest of us know he's a vile piece of shite.

I saw a friend tonight who was asking about the movie. He's left-leaning. He works at Dell, and said everyone at work is talking about how much they hate Michael Moore. Of course, they haven't seen the movie!

Here's the problem, as I see it: These folks haven't yet accepted the fact that our government is capable of lying. I mean, REALLY lying, being duplicitous, making shit up, stealing from us, putting others in harm's way...all just to stay in power. The idea is mind-boggling for them. It undercuts the very feeble fabric of their lives, and might interrupt their incessant consumerism, quest for that promotion/bigger house/etc, vacation to the islands planned for next month. You get the idea.

They can't handle the truth. :P

The news media will be disingenuous, as usual, because MM makes them look like blundering fools. Which they are.

However, for those folks on the fence, this should help seal the deal.

Saw it once, plan to see it again.

:dem:

8. Yes that was on Aaron Brown just now
Exactly as you post...

"It's not fair! He didn't show both sides!" It's not fair to show the truth? Should a documentary about Hitler's murders show some "other side?"

I could not believe the sad sacks lamenting how awful this "Limbaugh-like" effort was. It made one of the critics root for Poor George as he professed no love for the King.

Notice how the "Temptation" had glowing reviews while this reality show is well done and factual gets trashed. It is telling.

10. The military document
blew my mind. I didn't know Moore had it. Now I know why the AP wants to know if all records were released.

11. Yup, that one surprised me
I thought I'd heard him questioned about how he got that record, and he wouldn't answer... Good! All of the connections between the Bushies and the Saudis require a chart, the network is so densely interconnected. The fact the the military record points to *that,* rather than mere drug use alone, was something I did not know.

I would think the Freepers would be freaked out just at the images of Chimp, Poppy, Rummy, et al chumming it up with the Saudi's. They are afraid of the very IDEA of this movie. How many will even summon the guts to SEE it??

13. There is a lot of material out there for the sequel since Abu Ghraib
Everyday Bush adds to Moores store of material. There just must be a 9/11 sequel....?
