I am tired of the hate, tired of humanity, if the here and now is
all that is left.

Moore attacks * - how the mass public will deal with it is unknown and I fear we've another Rick Kahn on our hands, I applaud Moore for having the guts to take this risk - I'm sure he can afford fully time bodyguards and private detectives because *, if no other repuke, is going to seek revenge on this filmmaking whistleass-blower...

* attacks the world, repeatedly and irresponsibly. Fuck Nader and his 2% you guys. The BFEE, Katherine Harris, and the nominal "Supreme" Court deserve any blame that matters and they should be held accountable for installing the Neanderthal "Man"* to office.

"rogues" and "terrorists" fight us. (typical propaganda. If they're not for us, they're surely the enemy. Even when we did the wrongdoing or wilfully looking the other way when our friends tell us we're about to be attacked.)

Americans attack each other.

The civilized world will be attacking us next.

I'm fucking TIRED of it.

We need to do more than bullshit mean-nothing petitions...

I'll do a flip-flop. I'm damn grateful Kerry is pulling a clean act. It only shows how DEGENERATE the little traitor pig* and his buddies are for shoveling such hateful slop.

http://www.democrats.org/action/200406260001.html?psc=actionalert

(that's one reference, but my own anger transcends one pointless petition.)

Today, at Pride, I am avoiding the republican booth - especially if they have the audacity to raise their banner of "The party of fiscal responsibility" again. Last year I was fuming mad. This year I might even yell in their piggy puggy faces.

Sorry, I had to rant. The world disgusts me right now. I feel there is no chance of recovery.

Leave a message after the tone.

*BEEP*

2. Thanks... but we've got to do something... People know that when
I get angry, something is wrong BIG-TIME.

At least in the real world, I'm able to keep cool calm and collected.

But even I speak to relatives and friends on the phones using the SAME terminology I do here. In public.

This country needs healing and we cannot sit back.

But we have no alternative, they'll call us traitors for speaking out. :eyes:

You're right, we have to hang in there. We have no choice.

DU is quite the catharsis for myself, and lots of others and I'm appreciative...

But the only solution is to find a middle ground. Republicans historically won't budge anything worthwhile, Dems bend over backwards and buy the lube as well...

Armageddon is nigh. All it needs is one key stone removed and that dam is going to break.

So, what the hell, we're teetering on the bring of destruction. I'm going out for a beer and watching a sunset. Can't do shit about anything because we let others do all the work for us while not watching to ensure they remain responsible and civilized...

Margaret thatcher can burn in hell for her comments too. (see sig line) Individualism is great, but when we forget that we're supposed to be a society (and a civilized one), we all tend to become less than civilized.

I dunno.

Make that a jaegerbull for me...

4. As my daughter says: Some days, people just plain make you pro-nuke
and she ain't talkin power plants.

I second the motion that you hang in there. Lean on your evilDUer pals and vent all you need to. We are with you!

A wise man (who I took for a smart ass at the time) once asked me: "*****, don't ya wanna find out how it all turns out?" Sounded pretty dumb to me at that point in my life, but damned if things didn't start getting interesting and looking up soon afterwords.

We hear ya. Hold your little piece of ground. If we each do that, there is always hope.

Peace & strength,
hm

9. If I regain my emotional composure, I might just act typically American &
grab some of their propaganda... O8) Of course, I'm not used to acting stupid, but I will try...

Of course, I might end up in a big argument (as a couple had been against them last year, heh...)

7. We've made huge progress since the "Selection." They want to beat
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 02:36 PM by KoKo01
us down and downplay the accomplishments we've made against overwhelming odds. Every fax/phone/e-mail one does is one more stone thrown at them that makes a dent that eventually will become a big gaping hole where the truth will have a chance to come out one day.

Look, so far, two DU'ers have found they appear in Moore's film. What if no one had protested the "Selection?" Skinner and Elad wouldn't have been able to start this site. They would have been off somewhere doing other things.

It's discouraging out there and sometimes being here is discouraging because people vent at each other and it's almost like being "out there with the Repugs."

I think of groups like the French Resistance where people can do alot underground that saves somebody somewhere. Just the support we can give for those who are trying to out this group of thugs means that we grow stronger. Look at the bloggers who are now fighting to have the "Fairness Doctrine" reinstated. (Linked from Eric Alterman's Blog). It's "fair" media who with our support can get this to be an issue.

I remember when I found DU there was nothing to read that wasn't pumping Bush, nothing to see that wasn't pumping him. Twenty posters used to struggle to find something, then "Bart Cop, Media Whores Online and Buzzflash" started giving us plenty to talk about and support. Now we have bloggers, and radio and so much criticism of Bush & the thugs that it's hard to keep up with it all. Thats PROGRESS.

Look at what we're up against. It isn't going to be easy.

(Sorry for sounding preachy...:-()

8. 'toad
you echo my daily thoughts & feelings. i get so disgusted w/ dishonesty. and most of the "right" can't even be honest w/themselves.

if this country follows it's present course, the world will turn on us & crush us into the dust; you and i will pay the same penalty as the most crass, greedy, elitist right-wing pig.

i never thought it wd come to this, but i want to leave this country & never look back. can't though, wasn't born in the social class that allows horizontal mobility.

& yes, petitions won't accomplish much against a ruthless & rapacious ruling caste: i'm stocking can goods & shotshells against the inevitable, plus a good supply of hemlock-analogues as an alternative to the camps.

one day @ a time, fellow world citizen!

13. Hang in there.
I get so FUCKIN' PISSED OFF when I watch TV "news" that I have cut way back on it.

It is real ironic but the hope I now have is that the rank and file of the CIA, which I have always considered the largest Terorist Group on the planet, will bring BushCo down. Tenet bootclicked BushCo and his reward was getting' their boot in his ass. The rank and file are seething and I feel that they will work to bring down these Neo Fascists that have usurped them and the Pentagon. There are people in the Military that are also real pissed off at the creeps that are scapegoating the Military, talkin' out of both sides of their mouths. Praising the Military while guttin' them.

Politcs is an arena that is not for the feint of heart. Amerika is a Plutocracy and the Middle Class is being turned into the Working Poor. The Right Wing in colusion with Corporate Power are in the process of destroying Amerika in all ways imaginable. Al Gore is correct when he says Democracy is in danger. In my view, Democracy may be DEAD!

Those of us that see the reality of Corporatism need to refrain from bashing Nadar and Camejo and allign ourselves with their msg. The Democractic Party needs to move in conjunction with the Green Pary, not attack it. We need to find the common ground with all of the Left and seek mutual goals. The more we fight amongst ourselves, the more that the Right Wing gains strength.

11. Hypno, my heart is with you.
It is as it is and it will be as it will be.

All we can do is try.
All we can do is hope.
All we can do is affect our own small space in this world and those nearest us.

I used to believe I had to save the whole world and became so overwhelmed that I ended up a hermit, praying alone in my house for almost 15 years. Only going out when needed for food or med.

Finally, I prayed to see clearly and knew then that I am only one person, but am also One with All.

Now I find great peace in just loving all and praying for all to see clearly. I am NOT religious in any way.

Anger kills, look around this world and at the many people that die each minute from stress.

Wouldn't want to loose your charm here at the DU!!!

Take good care of yourself, the rest will come.

15. When I need a recharge,
I set the alarm to wake me at 4am.

When I wake I make a pot of coffee, fill the thermos, put a plastic chair in the trunk and head for a spot that has a clear view to the southeast.

At this spot I sit in the chair drinking coffee and wait for first light and then on to the sunrise.

The answers I need come to me and I feel recharged, ready for whatever is next.

Strange thing is, that sun comes up everyday, no matter how bad things seem to be.

Let us hope for a clear day.

17. I diagnose thee "sick and tired of being sick and tired".
But keep the faith, like this great American.

Fannie Lou Hamer, known as the lady who was "sick and tired of being sick and tired," was born October 6, 1917, in Montgomery County, Mississippi. She was the granddaughter of slaves. Her family were sharecroppers - a position not that different from slavery. Hamer had 19 brothers and sisters. She was the youngest of the children.

In 1962, when Hamer was 44 years old, SNCC volunteers came to town and held a voter registration meeting. She was surprised to learn that African-Americans actually had a constitutional right to vote. When the SNCC members asked for volunteers to go to the courthouse to register to vote, Hamer was the first to raise her hand. This was a dangerous decision. She later reflected, "The only thing they could do to me was to kill me, and it seemed like they'd been trying to do that a little bit at a time ever since I could remember."

When Hamer and others went to the courthouse, they were jailed and beaten by the police. Hamer's courageous act got her thrown off the plantation where she was a sharecropper. She also began to receive constant death threats and was even shot at. Still, Hamer would not be discouraged. She became a SNCC Field Secretary and traveled around the country speaking and registering people to vote.

Hamer co-founded the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP). In 1964, the MDFP challenged the all-white Mississippi delegation to the Democratic National Convention. Hamer spoke in front of the Credentials Committee in a televised proceeding that reached millions of viewers. She told the committee how African-Americans in many states across the country were prevented from voting through illegal tests, taxes and intimidation. As a result of her speech, two delegates of the MFDP were given speaking rights at the convention and the other members were seated as honorable guests.

Hamer was an inspirational figure to many involved in the struggle for civil rights. She died on March 14, 1977, at the age of 59.
