Let's contact them and voice our support for journalists who refuse to be cowed by politicians who think they have a divine right to rule without question!

8. I would imagine there's no greater endorsement
than an official complaint from the thin-skinned boy king about his supposed ill treatment at the hands of the lady reporter.

But I'll write too.

13. Here's my statement:
"In regards to President Bush filing a complaint with the Irish Embassy about journalist Carol Coleman:
Not in my name he doesn't! Please consider that President Bush does not necessarily speak for the majority of the American electorate who voted for someone else for the office. We would be far better off in this country had some of our journalists shown the same integrity as Ms. Coleman and questioned Mr. Bush and his policies vigorously from the very beginning of his presidency."

And may Carole Coleman serve as a source of insperation for the pathetic and pitiful media we have here in the U.S. to develop a spine and begin to do their jobs once more--they weren't afraid to go after Clinton so why not equal time for the Boy King?

15. Thanks to your reporter Carole Coleman
who dares to ask the questions that we all want to ask of the murdering chimp (GW Bush) who is destroying the USA and pissing off the rest of the world to boot. :o)

That fucking piss-ass faggot who runs our country actually filed a complaint against a person who was trying to teach him what it means to live under his dictatorship? What a cowardly piece of shit he is - no wonder I hate his guts.

16. Here's what I sent 'em:

I understand the White House is complaining because one of your courageous reporters actually gave George Bush a challenging line of questioning. To that I say BOO-HOO! I hope you folks do NOT cave in!!! It's a shame this administration has been able to get away with suppressing and manipulating OUR media here in America, but to try to strong-arm the media in another country is just unconscionable!!! Don't you dare fall for it!!! Keep telling the truth. You're among the few who do. Reporter/interviewer Carole Coleman did an EXCELLENT job! She put our prissy, over-paid, spineless, fawning reporters and anchors to complete shame! She's to be commended for more than just an interview - but instead, a public service.

Gratefully yours,

me

17. Here's mine:
I understand that there has been a complaint filed against Carol Colman by the bush* administration because of her hard hitting, honest interview. Millions in this country feel they owe this woman a debt of gratitude for her actions. Here in the land of the free and the home of the 'brave' no one would dare ask bush* the questions that need to be asked. Her interview has gained her immense respect in this country and it showed our 'fearless leader' for what he his. A bullying, arrogant despot wanna-be.

Please give my deepest and sincerest thanks to Carol Colman for having the guts and integrity for showing what a shallow, mean-spirited, poorly spoken, arrogant, bullying whine bag that he is. He's like the proverbial bully in the school yard. But he got whipped by a woman, and that has to hurt REALLY bad.

Sincerely,

20. Here's mine! Thanks for a great idea and for the addresses.
Dear Mesdames and Sirs,

I understand the United States White House has filed a complaint about Carole Coleman and am writing to lend my support to Ms Coleman.

In the U.S., we have witnessed the steady erosion of journalism and media so that what information we as a nation recieve is no longer based in fact, but rather is manipulated to present our current leadership in only the most fawning light.

Journalists no longer ask what needs to be asked, and our President's party, the Ultra Conservative Republicans have systematically taken control of the mass dissemination of news. Our largest news organs are owned by these Conservative interests, dictator-style and if one looks for documents, one finds ample evidence of insistence that reporters avoid truthful factfinding and only report what the White House wants the public to hear.

Naturally, there are many Americans who see what is really going on and pray for the kind of journalism that Ms. Coleman demonstrated. Unfortunately, there are also many who have not been exposed to the truth and refuse to look for it. Without professionals of her caliber here, we are in serious trouble. I hope you will all support her in the face of this preposterous and cowardly complaint by our government.

Many kind thanks for your time,

This is what I emailed the Irish Embassy and the RTE:

I've read that the White House has filed a complaint with the Embassy of Ireland concering journalist Carole Coleman's interview with President Bush. Freedom of the Press is of the utmost importance to the American people as well as people around the world, yet again George W. Bush is challenging that very freedom. This American supports RTE journalist Carole Coleman's right to ask our President tough questions which are not concerned(as suggested by presidential staff)with the trousers of Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. In fact, I commend her for exercising that right.

It appears the the President of the United States may be trying to have the excellent Irish reporter, Carole Coleman, blacklisted. The President is a bit touchy nowadays. He is in a spot of trouble in Iraq, with the US economy, and - perhaps - with the law over the "outing" of CIA-agent Valerie Plame. Mr. Bush was quite testy and petulant with Ms. Coleman in her Radio Telifis Eireann interview. She was quite good, in fact. He was - as usual - quite bad. He was, in fact, an embarrassment to our nation. Ms. Coleman was, in contrast, quite the elegant spokeswoman for the Irish people (who seem not to like Mr. Bush the least bit). Ms. Coleman reminds me of our great national treasure, Helen Thomas (long of AP, but elsewhere now).

26. Here is what I emailed this evening...
Dear Ms. Coleman,

I've been reading on US web sites that you were "admonished" by the White House for your...tone?...with our regrettable "president". Bravo to you, and well done, for your courageous interview. My wife and I saw Fahrenheit 911 last night - it is likely a fair view of our so called leader. We've been ill with the outcome of our last presidential election since the fateful day when our Supreme Court handed the victory to Bush. Many of us (the sane ones...the intelligent ones...) are praying that he will be defeated by John Kerry in November. We need more journalists like you who are willing to do what you are meant to do. Our US media has embarassed themselves since the last election. Hopefully, things will turn around soon....but we are not holding our breath!

A grateful American

28. what a great idea: my email is as follows...
Dear Honorable Ambassador and Diplomatic staff

I wish to state my complete disagreement with President Bush's
attitudes and formal complaint lodged to you regarding a reporters
questioning of him in an interview.

I believe our own media have been far too soft on him and we Americans
are so happy to see someone in the journalism profession abroad with the
courage to question Mr. Bush candidly and without reservation.

I hope you will treat the White House's complaints with the laughter and
dismissiveness they deserve.

Thank you. Long Live Ireland.

Regards,

31. I just sent them this e-mail:
I just want to let you know that if anybody should apologize it should be Mr. Bush (and we the people for allowing him to be selected) and not Ms. Coleman or the Irish press.
Please do not allow CENSORSHIP to be imposed on your news media as it has been imposed on ours. We don't have any journalists left. I wish we could have Ms. Coleman give a course in interviewing and ethics to our government controlled media critters.
Please communicate my appreciation to Ms. Coleman. I am sorry that Mr. Bush's arrogance, petulance, and desire to self-agrandize have put Ms. Coleman in the position to have to defend herself for being an honest, capable journalist.
