I don't think it is censorship to ban underclothing, implied nudity, people jumping into bed together (Soap opera ad), language implying sex, swear words, tampons, etc during child viewing hours - say 7 Am to 9 PM during the school year and 7 AM to 10 PM during the summer.

It's not a matter of parents not keeping good enough tabs on their kids - with ads and show previews you never know what's going to pop up. You can't preview and screen them. I'm also disappointed that a lot of the newer ads are just plain mean. But I guess squilching that would be a hopeless cause.

As for those DUers that come back with the pithy "well you can always just turn off the TV". Yeah, and I can ride a bike to work everyday, too. TV, radio, phones, cars - they're the new Apple pie and sliced bread. It's part of our "culture". Of course I'm going to use them. And it's not just my kids anyways - it's the kids my kids have to hang out with. It's the whole damn village getting polluted. So turning off the TV permanently does nothing.
