Cindy responded to the "so-called" family letter attacking her (w/ updates

I spoke to Cindy about the "so-called" family who attacked her today. This godmother, according to Cindy, did not know Casey at all. They saw each other maybe once a year. As for the other family members, they have always been at political loggerheads, so their response is no big shock.

Cindy treated it with a shrug. Her husband will send out a more detailed response soon. In the meantime, Cindy says the letter is to be treated as little more than bad, dumb noise.

The vigil goes on.

I am back in the hotel now, sunburned and ant-bitten and utterly utterly thrilled. I cannot even begin to describe my exoerience these last days down here. If you can get here, get here.

BUT

Stick to the main cause. This thing could die of its own success in two ways. 1) It could get so huge that the cops have no choice but to shut it down, which would be a victory in its own right and no shame at all; 2) A bunch of people could come and divert the purpose away from Cindy, the military families, the soldiers, and getting out of Iraq. That would be a catastrophe.

There is a large rally on Saturday in Crawford. They have gotten a permit to use the local football stadium. Go. Be there. You will be part of what could be the most extraordinary coming-together since this whole clusterfuck of an administration came into being.

I am drinking a beer and falling down. Scott Galindez is staying around, so the truthout videos from the site will keep coming.

...all day long. She hardly has time to herself. But, she's so warm and approachable at the same time. She really makes time, even if it's just a few seconds, for everyone. Lots of good women from Code Pink and Gold Star Mothers and Military Families Speak Out to pass the time with. If you're lucky, the black helicopters will fly over. :D
