And I am being polite. I've tried for a while now not to post this, to stay out of this dicussion, but I can't keep silent any longer.
Back in the early 90's I was making a living as a location manager for film and television. I worked on a film in which the Director and her husband (who was producing the film) took us to dinner one evening during the pre-production phase. And over that dinner, they started to tell those of us around the table that their neighbors were Arnie and Maria. These two very well known film people held nothing back in their distaste for Arnie. Some of the things that were mentioned were how Arnie boasted of only providing "the seed" for Maria and that it was "her job" to have the babies, change them and feed them. He had wanted no part in it. They also said he would not "allow" Maria to wear pants in public and that he kept her on a "very strict" diet. It sounded to me that he was being described as a domineering piece of garbage and that there must've been something going on that Maria tolerated this kind of a marriage. And it was during this dinner conversation that I got my total dislike and disgust for this man - and I've never felt any other way about him for all these years. I've been out of that business now for over 10 years, but I never forgot that one particular dinner among many that I had while working in the film business.
I am, to be frank, glad to hear about these women who worked on films with him are now coming forth with their stories because I have no doubt in my mind that they are true. Film people talk among themselves about such things and on sets you hear all kinds of stuff about actors and other show biz types that they have worked with. It's just that so many crew members and talent are afraid of never working again when going up against a "star" like Arnie, that they stay silent. It's a tough business and if you want to keep working, you don't speak out. If more would come forward and tell their stories, I'm sure he'd never stand a chance in hell of winning a spitting contest, never mind the Governor's office. And it might've just hindered his so-called acting career.
JMHO here, but I think he's a womanizing piece of garbage and I would have to seriously wonder what the fine people of California are considering if they vote for him next week. The women of CA should be ashamed of themselves if they vote for this man. Will they be voting for a character in a film? Or do they seriously believe, deep down, that this man offers a credible alternative? It really saddens me to think that people see him as a leader because what I see is a total moron with a complete lack of character and a total disrespect for women. But I'm certain that I'm not the only one.
