I have just figured what the MSM was doing the past few days
They decided to show the carnage of the past few days, and comment on how bad the relief effects were, they had reporters breaking down, saying how bad it was, all this was for a reason.

FOR TODAY WHEN BUSH ARRVIED, SO THEY CAN SAY NEW ORLEANS IS SAVED BY THE PRESIDENT.

I find it quite strange that all the aid, the food and water, and the fact that people are now getting rescued, happened to occur on the same day that Bushy arrvies in New Orleans.

Great PR Job, Karl Rove!

1. Oh geez...I suppose Rove can make gold out of straw too, right?
The criticism of the administration over this is unprecedented and peopel form thier opinions early. No amount of touchy feely photo ops are going to undo the feeling in the American psyche that this president FUCKED UP BIG TIME.

2. I don' think so. Elijah Cummings of the Black caucus said the
next horrific wave of this will be accounting for those that have perished.

3. What Rove and the Neohuns....
...not use every instance to further the charade? Rove is the Wizard of Oz.

4. I think it's too late to save Bush
We haven't gotten to the horrible stuff yet about how many have died. The bad news isn't close to being over.

5. Nah
Bush is trying to turn this into a photo-op, but the MSM ain't buying it this time. For example, even Rush Limbaugh's girlfriend Daryn Kagan called Bush's press conference today a political event and noted that he appeared with the Republican governors.

I think that the press actually did its job this time, and I think that the difference is that the reporters were actually put into danger along with the rest of the hurricane victims. Now the sad thing is, I believe that most of the reporters who went down there expected more of the "wind-blown reporter reports that the weather is really, really bad" kind of story. That is why they put their top people like Brian Williams into the SuperDome, never expecting that it would become ThunderDome. They thought that it would be just another embedded reporter giving the public warm, fuzzy human interest stories about the strength of the human spirit. It was a wake-up call for the MSM.
