First, I think your post offers speculation on the flimsiest of evidence. Teresa Heinz Kerry and Elizabeth Edwards are two prominent Democrats who wear their hair over their ears from time to time (almost always in the case of Heinz Kerry). I suspect there are several million other women who do the same, and being "society" has nothing to do with it.

Second, I don't have a problem with Pickles being "fair" game. Only your post is neither fair (since it is essentially baseless) nor is it "game" in the sense that whether Laura Bush had a face lift or Joe Biden had hair plugs or whatever has nothing to do with anything.

to be moved back at the ears. That's the transcendent mark of face lifts. And pickles really does have that. I have known many women who have short hair, even at the ears, who have had face lifts. But they stop styling the hair back and instead direct it down or toward the face so the hairline at the ears becomes invisible.

I should also say....if she had a face lift, she had a good one IMO. I dislike pickles, but cosmetic procedures don't bother me one way or another.

Laura Bush is a caricature of privelidge and vanity. She and her "hubby" have probably been photographed more times than Princess Diana. How I WISH that weren't the case; Princess Diana had HUMANITY. This clownish pair hasn't shown a speck of it, save for the cheap photo ops.

My read is this: Stephanie mimics the phrase "women of a certain age" because it's attributable to ultra-genteel society who employ euphemisms rather than plain language. Laura's image seems to be so damned important to her but NOTHING will break past that drugged-out, vapid look on her face.

Since there is no humanity to either of them, some of us regard them as objects instead of people. Don't think they haven't favored us with same. We jeer and deride, and it's inclusive of their appearance because what they stand for is plainly in view. This is why Stephanie's threads get attention, and this is why I appreciate them. Face lift or no, if venting suits our purpose, I see no harm in the means.
