I just read SCTV is being released on DVD!

Bad news is that they are starting with the much inferior NBC version. Johnny LaRue is the man!

1. Wha!??! No "3-D House of Representatives"????
John Candy playing Tipp O'Neill...

"SIGN the bill! SIGN the bill!"

I doubt that skit was part of the inferior NBC version. :-( So is the NBC version mostly the Martin Short years?

8. The first set (nine episodes) is over $60!
Evidently they are having to pay a lot of royalties for the songs.

I hope we get to see The Tubes do "Sue Sue Sushi" again at Gil Fisher's cabin!

7. J. LaR
ain't nothin' but a playa...my man

I remember in grad school, our local NBC affiliate used to run SCTV at like 12:30 am on weeknights, and i used to drop whatever I was doing, or stay up and watch it...

One day, the station stopped showing it, and put carson daly in the timeslot (back when it was new)...As a protest, I never have watched a single moment of Carson to this day.

America needs the wisdom and guidance of SCTV, the Original SNL (1975-79), and Strangers with Candy

and I weep for the youth of today if on some channel they can't watch "You can't do that on Television"
