The saga continues...

Yet another dramatic update for all of you who PM'd me about this...

Pregnant sister (now about a month from her due date) calls at 1 in the morning wailing about "cramps" and being uncomfortable (hello...you're 8 months pregnant). So because she was "uncomfortable" her parents woke up at 1:30am and rushed her to the ER (yes, for being uncomfortable). Supposedly she's milking it pretty good, needing an IV for being dehydrated from so much crying - literally. :eyes: She says to me "I'm so dehydrated the doctors say - I feel like I should push because of the IV!" :eyes: I'm afraid to go to sleep since I'll be getting a 4 am call that she has another bladder infection and it's time for her biweekly 20-hour entire-family bedside vigil.

Boy, I can't WAIT until she actually goes into labor.

1. The night I delivered...I was 8 months 5 days pregnant.

I felt uncomfortable. It was the weirdest kind of uncomfortable you can imagine. Then the cramps. Then my water broke. 15 hours later, I was holding my baby who had arrived 3.5 weeks early.

Her body will tell her when it's time. The uncomfortable feeling was my first symptom.

Congrats, soon-to-be-aunt. :)

This type of person could well use the infant to gain more attention for herself on an ongoing basis.

I suggest you get her that book "What to Expect the First Year" that details the stages babies go through on a week to week basis.

When she calls wailing, grab YOUR copy of the book and refer her to page etc.

Luckily her labor won't last as long as her temper tantrums... then she can whine about her episiotomy for a few months.

Oh and her sore nipples will be GREAT fun.

4. Yes, at least she isn't having her baby in the middle of flu season.

I had my son in January. Everytime I coughed, I thought my stitches had popped. Yeah, the episiotomy will do her in. :evilgrin:

My MIL is just like that. Every little thing is a major get-together at the hospital. My nephew broke his arm, so she spends the night in the ER. :eyes:

nothing like a little attention. :)

That was the best part of my old sports injuries. The girls would fawn all over me like I was a helpless little puppy. My brothers were not so kind, haha.
