Over the past couple of years I've seen a number of articles about net traffic falling off on weekends, but that's completely contrary to my experience. I surf no more nor any less on weekends than I do on any other day. I'm wondering what your pattern is.
It drives me nuts that many news sites simply ignore their websites on Saturdays and Sundays. It's like cable news networks that also go light on coverage during the weekend. Maybe there are fewer surfers and viewers then, but perhaps that's because the offerings are so meager. It's that old question: which came first, the-chicken-or-the-egg?
One explanation I've heard is that most surfers log on from work, thus it's a weekday activity. If that's true, who's doing all the work if the US if the workers are all online?
When I've sold stuff on eBay, I've found that weekends were no different than weekdays when it came to getting good bids. I even found that auction closing times didn't matter. I'd get good bids even when my auctions were closing in the wee small hours of the morning -- though I would generally see the top bid coming from someone in a time zone that was three hours earlier than mine.
