A few minutes ago one of miz t.'s friends called.
They chatted for a bit and then miz t. left the room, still talking.
A couple of minutes later I walked by the bathroom and there's miz t., seated on the john and still talking.
"Does she know where you are and what you're doing?"

I just think that violates some rule of proper decorum.

In a restaurant (I'm amazed at the number of people I see seated at tables and they're both talking on the phone - I always wonder if they're talking to each other but feel more comfortable with the phone glued to their head).

I noticed the other day that some people practically scream into their cell phones. I live with one. My daugher pointed it out, "Mom, tell Dad that he really doesn't have to SHOUT when he's on his cell."

He does this when he's at home and when he's not at home. When he calls home. And it's not just him, it's other people, too.

Why do some people do this? It can't be the reception, at least not always. I don't use the cell phone very often, but I speak at a fairly normal volume when I do and I THINK that I'm heard. I'm pretty sure, anyway.

It's irritating. Especially when the person who's shouting at their phone gives you dirty looks like you're eavesdropping...

People walking down the street with those blasted sci-fi inspired ear wings, incessantly yaking at the air like crazed loons make me want to do violent things. They invariably do something incredibly rude, like walk into you or hold up a line at the grocery store because they just can't be bothered to shut the hell up for five seconds to pay attention to anything going on around them.

I hate phones generally. I have no use for them except for emergencies, take-out, and talking to people who don't live within driving distance of me.
