Are there moments in your life
when you look back you ask yourself ":wtf: was I thinking there???" or ":wtf: made me do that???"

I had some of those moments. But I am rather glad they are a minority. For example I had a bf some years ago where I think nowadays "Why in hell did I even start something with him??? And why in the world did I gave him a second chance after I broke off with him??" But then I am more than glad I got out of that relationship just in time and didn't let him move in with me. Lucky me.

1. Not too many,
but the consequences of some have been far-reaching and, at times, a tad devastating.

Probably doing better than some in that respect, and worse than others. :D

Honeybottom picture on DU. :D

'cos then I'd have to regret my bootay-baring picture in tribute to that marvelous occasion. :D

I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day.

Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesday I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea

Mounties:
He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesday he goes shopping and has buttered scones for tea.

Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars.

Mounties:
He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing and hangs around in bars?!

Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear papa!!

Mounties:
I cut down trees, I wear high heels?!
Suspenders...and a bra?!...

Just the Lumberjack:
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear papa!!

24. MP quotes!!!!!
King Arthur: Old woman.
Dennis: Man.
King Arthur: Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there?
Dennis: I'm 37.
King Arthur: What?
Dennis: I'm 37. I'm not old.
King Arthur: Well I can't just call you "man".
Dennis: Well you could say "Dennis".
King Arthur: I didn't know you were called Dennis.
Dennis: Well you didn't bother to find out did you?
King Arthur: I did say sorry about the "old woman", but from behind you looked...
Dennis: What I object to is you automatically treat me like an inferior.
King Arthur: Well I am king.
Dennis: Oh, king eh? Very nice. And how'd you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers. By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society.

King Arthur: I am your king.
Woman: Well I didn't vote for you.
King Arthur: You don't vote for kings.
Woman: Well how'd you become king then?

King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king.
Dennis: Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

Dennis: Oh, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dennis: Oh but if I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dennis: Come and see the violence inherent in the system. Help! Help! I'm being repressed!
King Arthur: Bloody peasant!
Dennis: Oh, what a giveaway! Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about! Did you see him repressing me? You saw him, Didn't you?

8. I have fucked up everything.
I pride myself on being logical. In practice I make the worst possible decisions. I have completely fuckered my life. I fucked up with the only love of my life, fucked up school, fucked up with my family, fucked up my job.. I did all that in 3 years.. Fuck, I'm wondering how I can screw my relationship with my cat in 2007. She is loyal.

25. Morning MissH!
I think we all can say we've done things in our lives that now make us wonder. But I don't beat myself up about them. I was a different person then, and would probably make different choices if the same occasions come up now. What's past is past. We learn and move on. We should forgive ourselves and check judgments at the door.

31. Yes, we do have
to forgive ourselves and move on, as hard as that is to do sometimes, and a big YES about learning from our mistakes.

Book club was great. It's a wonderful mix of women. All ages, different back grounds, different careers. I think that's what makes it so interesting.

35. The book we discussed
last night was "The Piano Tuner" by Daniel Mason. Most of the members really liked it, I thought it was a bit ho-hum, a bit too dreamy. The story takes place in Burma, and the imagery, the exotic setting is great though. Mr. Mason wrote it while going to med-school, so that's quite an accomplishment. I think he was 26 at the time. It's his first book and has gotten great reviews.

Now we're reading "Saturday" by Ian McEwan. I've already started it and like it very much.

Gotta head out to work now. Wishing you a great day!
