Any actors/directors/producers out there? I signed up for an acting class
this semester I'm taking an audition course. :)

Hopefully, the cheque has to cash first. ;)

Any good tips/advice?

1. Only do nudity if it's tasteful...
... or they pay you good.

8. If Kathy Bates can do it, anyone can!
...'course, that was a pretty frightening moment when she did that in About Schmidt! :scared:

4. is that really annoying?
the reason I ask is that a teacher last semester who is also the director of the school had to ask a student to take her gum out of the classroom. It's just interesting that you would mention that. :)

not that I would chew gum in a class or anything.....

5. Master your ability to memorize. The first one in your group to
have most of their lines memorized goes a long, long way...Much luck to you.

6. I'm actually very good at that from prior experience......
if I have lines I memorize them verbatim. What ticks me off though if when my scene partner doesn't and mixes up lines or forgets whole lines and totally throws me off.

I can recover a bit but it's like you had a week, memorize the damn thing, honey!!! :(

7. It's incredibly annoying.
Especially while you're auditioning.
But, in general, gum is frowned upon anywhere around a theatre, out of audience courtesy and for safety reasons.
