Formatting Code Question:
Every time I place text within brackets to show that it was edited, e.g., for tense, the text disappears upon posting.

It is my understanding that DU uses vB Code. I've looked and can't seem to find how to keep the text from vanishing.

What code is used to show bracketed text?

Thanks!

1. Lemme see if escaping it works

Normal square brackets produce: < Hi >
Double square brackets produce: <[ a >]

5. Not sure if I understand what you are trying to do
Edited on Wed Jan-17-07 06:09 PM by Jersey Devil
You like to mark text that has been changed so the old text is in brackets, if I understand correctly.

How about using strikethrough instead of putting it in brackets so that when you make a mishtake mistake you can show the old words that way?

To do that use "s" and "/s"(without the quotes) in brackets before and after the word/phrase you are deleting or changing.

[hello]

In this case, type ampersand, pound sign, and 91 for the opening bracket, and then hit the ampersand, pound sign, and 93 for the closing one.

8. DU does not use VB
If you want to use brackets, you can use the follow code:

&#91 produces [
&#93 produces ]

But if you go back and edit your post I believe you'll have to
reenter those codes.
