worst yet. It is a good thing winter is almost over or we'd freeze because there is no way to heat this old place at that price. We're as weather tight as you can make a 200 year old house. We keep thermostat at 63 degrees. Don't know how else to save. Had anew furnace put in last fall because we lost ours during the spring rain last year. Have a sump pump that died on us and we were not aware of it until the cellar was awash.
By the way, our insurance company would not cover any of the cost of a new furnace. They told us we did not have the "failure of sump pump" rider on our policy. It would have been $23.00...if we had known about it. All of you with Liberty Mutual Insurance and use a sump pump, even rarely, best check this out. We pay them over $1000.00 a year for homeowners insurance so I guess another $23.00 would not have mattered.
We're north of Boston, what are you paying per gallon in your area for heating oil?
