Stumbled onto a fantastic deal, it seems to suit all of my needs, but I don't know much about it. Reviews seem decent, but I'd like some first hand anecdotes.

1. I've heard it's really lacking in cargo room, but I suppose that's only an issue if you would |
|
regularly need to fill all the seats and still carry much stuff (the family I know with one got around that with one of those yakima rooftop cargo things for trips.) As wagony-crossover-sorts-of-things go (whatever happened to cars that fit neatly into categories, anyhow?) I have my eye on the Mazda 5 for when the wagon finally goes (though my Dad thinks I need a Escape Hybrid, in any case it's academic because the Saturn is the Car That Simply Refuses to Die) but with a sufficiently good deal I would certainly consider one.
But how will the other HS moms recognize you if you haven't got a minivan? :D

2. it would have to be really cheap to be worth buying |
|
there`s better vehicles in that class. really bad gas mileage in all the new Chrysler products with the engines they offer. their resale/trade in value will be zero. if the price is cheap enough to overcome the low resale and crap gas mileage then it maybe a good buy.

3. when I used to travel for work...I rented one for a week |
|
I really liked it - I admit I own an SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe....dear god I will be banned for admitting it) however I am thinking my next car might someday be a Pacifica - very roomy, drives nicely its a nice crossover vehicle. I own 3 large dogs and a cat and when my husband and I travel we need something roomy.... an SUV has been great, but it jostles the pets around...the Pacifica was a nice mix of car and SUV.
Gas mileage was about the same...as far as maintainance and stuff I only had it a week so I am not much help
Edwards.com is a great site for behind the hype type info on cars (why I decided on the Santa Fe)

4. My family doesn't have any dogs or cats and such but being parents of children |
|
we love the room and while the gas mileage is NOT the best Detroit has to offer it does beat the ever loving SNOT out of the old monstrous GMC Safari we were forced to drive for a while.
Since you asked for opinions I'll give you ours. If it's really as good a price as you say then buy it, maintain it and enjoy it.
