Spanish with English subtitles.
It's not a blood-and-gore horror film, but is nicely suspenseful, and because it spends a lot of time not attempting to hit you over the head with tension or scares, when the scares come, they're pretty creepy. It does sprawl a bit, and doesn't really break any new ground in terms of foundation, plot, and reasoning, but is done better than most that I can remember.
It's not torture porn or Friday the 13th...
I also watched a screener of Cronenberg's "European Promises". Although his essential themes are present, they've become subtle enough that you might not know that you're watching a Cronenberg film. Really great stuff, especially for Viggo Mortenson fans. Violent, though. This one should be in wide release, it's so good.
