4. My tastes are varied

Mostly and at the top, Funk. Funk from James Brown (Which made the first record I ever bought) to P-Funk, Slave, Ohio Players, etc. It's gotz 2B funky.

My next love is Jazz. Be it Bebop or cool, from Trane and Miles to Courtney Pines and Ronny Jordan. (Just don't lay any Kenny G. on me)

When I want some hip-hop, I dig in the crates for some hot shit from '88-94.
Native Tongues, Gangtarr, Pharcyde, Snoop all make me want to groove.

I check out the jamz from across the seas, sambas and bossas from Brazil, British funky soul, Japanese grooves, French jammy jams. My collection is a virtual United Nations of Git Down and Git Funky. Jamiroquai, 4Hero, Zero7 and the United Future Organization jam constantly where ever I go.

Hit me with some Reggae and British dub and you've made a friend for life.

Coming form Detroit, I have to give props to the hottest house, club and electronic grooves and there are even times I want a taste of Led Zep (Which is very funk, BTW)

I like a lot of music. Right now I have about 1,700 cut on my iTunes, with more coming.

I can give or take most top 40, but I rarely listen to my radio and I think country is straight wack.

I go by one rule, as I said before; It's gotz to be funky.

It never let me down.

Hate to burst your bubble, but I think the local UPN station (50) has a goshdarn basketball game on (again). And UPN execs keep complaining about Enterprise's ratings not being good enough.

Sheesh.

did they ever have toenail collections? Both of my kids have done this, and I find it deeply weird.

11. I had a dog (a chocolat lab)

whose name was "Shine" Really it was "Shine Ass Shine" and everybody looked at me like I was crazy! The people who haven't heard of Rudy Ray need to get a DVD and check it out.

My brothers dog was Sanford (sanford and son) Dolemite (Rudy Ray) Brown (James Brown of course).

Since we were on the topic of funktified last night, I figured you had heard of him but wanted to make sure nonetheless. People remember you when you turn them on to Rudy Ray! I guess they have to have a certain sense of humor. That guy is hilarious!
