When will these awful songs get out of my head?!
My head has been colonized by a combination of the beginning of "Loser" and "We Like the Moon." It's like this:

"In a time of chimpanzees I was a monkey--We like the mooooon!"

ARGH!!! Make it stop!!

Tucker

2. I woke up singing Buddy Holly..
Eve-ry day, things are getting closer. Going faster than a roller coaster..

No idea why that's in my head, but it's a bit better than the mutant gerbils singing old Beck songs in your head.

4. The ONLY way to get rid of it is to sing it to someone else.
Scientific fact.

5. Former fundies
I defy you to get this one out of your heads:

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?

Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

6. Never, it's sad to say
I'm 53, and at least once a week a song I heard when I was three from a kiddy record goes through my head....

"We love to watch the fire engine
As it rushes down the street
On its way to put a great big fire out

We love to watch the fire engine
As it rushes down the street
Hip hooray hooray hooray the people shout

Woo woo woo goes the siren
Clang clang clang goes the bell

We love to watch the fire engine
As it rushes down the street
On its way to put a great big fire out"

And the thing was, I didn't even much LIKE that song when I was three....but it STUCK.

8. Those singing nuclear fallout rats are hell-sent...
I sympathize with your plight. I had a similar thing going on last night with the Fraggle Rock theme song, Bowie's "Dance Magic Dance" and the Quizno's commercial.

9. I can get rid of that ear worm for you...
...by replacing it with another ear worm.

It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small, small, world.

It's a world of laughter,
It's a world of tears...

11. I woke up with some version of "Everybody Wang Chung Tonight"
in my head, but it was bastardized somehow and now I can't remember what the other interloping song was.

Those weirdo hamster "We like tha moon" creatures are so damn funny, the whole music loop is so bizarre that I can't help but appreciate whatever strange mind created them. LOL!
