They only lost TWO SETS the entire year
Penn State (37-0) has now won an NCAA-record 63 consecutive matches and will make its sixth appearance in the national championship match.
The Nittany Lions can solidify their position as one of the most dominant programs in the history of women's volleyball by joining Long Beach State (1998), Nebraska (2000) and USC (2003) as the only undefeated NCAA national champions. (The 1977 USC team won the AIAW national title with a 38-0 record.)
Penn State also can join Hawaii (1982-83), Pacific (1985-86), UCLA (1990-91), Stanford (1996-97) and USC (2002-03) as the only programs to win back-to-back NCAA championships, and it can become the seventh program with three or more national titles.
