Poll question: Should DU 3 have a ranking system for posters rather than a simple ignore?
Edited on Sat Nov-12-11 12:12 PM by HopeHoops
I didn't put this in ATA because I think it is important for the Lounge in particular and face it, how often do you wander into ATA?

In simple terms. There are certain posters that you really like to follow and ones that you just don't want anything to do with (like me) and a log of people who rank somewhere in between. Rather than simply saying "ignore", would it be better to have a ranking system like the "date posted" or "last update" (or whatever they are called) or some sort of color-coding system so you can easily spot posts you want to check and ones you want to skip over for now but not have them hidden.

2. are you suggesting a ranking that is individual/personal or one that is collective/public
I've participated on other boards that attach a reputation or ranking to posters based on the compiled votes of the entire community. Though it's better on some boards than others, in general I don't care for the system, and would hate to see it on DU.

But if you're talking about a rank that is unique to a poster's individual rankings, that could be interesting.

5. I'd be happy if DU3 just allowed sex threads, because do I have a BACKLOG? Yes, I DO.

6. We should follow the example of the Amish on their discussion boards and shun rather than ignore.
