Storage Wars fans check in - New Texas version of Storage Wars
Too soon to tell who is going to be the asshole of the group (aka Dave Hester)

But it was funny as hell last night when Hester was so proud of that 18th century snuff box he found. Then on his way to get it appraised he dropped the thing and it broke.

1. Isn't it strange that there is a Barry character in both?
I wonder how they cast for these things.

But that guy got some good mid-century stuff.

3. You talking about Moe? Moe is no Barry
Sure he's a collecter like Barry is but Barry is a guy you'd want to hangout with and have beers.

Moe is just annoying - he's kinda like if Barry and Dave Hester had a love child.

2. The challenge is to figure out where to put all the moron politicians.
I don't think ANY other state even comes close to what Texas has generated - Arizona is getting there.

9. Hey Hey....
you forgot Florida. Maybe Chicago. They seem to be a few tacos short of a blue plate special in South Carolina too.

Common sense is not as common as I once thought.

11. Ah yes, Dave.
He is truly loathsome. I cannot believe how much people pay for those lockers! Especially Barry who then proceeds to fling virtually all of it looking for the one thing he must have. He seems to have more money than brains. Storage wars is what I watch when I can't sleep. :-)

6. I think that anyone who watches tv about self storage needs shock therapy
to kill the part of their brain that finds it interesting.

I'll wager next year there's a show on what exciting shit can be found in gloveboxes on used car lots.

7. Have you even watched the show? It's more than the stuff they find the lockers
It's these really great characters they brought together that have really amazing chemistry together. You really watch it for the folks they have on the show.

8. Some of the mouth-breathers I work with watch it in the galley
They all look the same. Whether its a pawn shop, self storage, gold mine, swamp logger, motorcycle shop....it all looks the same. Manufactured drama with weekly hissyfits. I don't need fake drama.

Sorry to be such a bummer.

10. " I don't need fake drama."
Nothing "fake" about it. Unless you don't watch tv at all, I'd bet that 95% of what you do watch is fake. House, NCIS, etc. That would fall under the fake catgory. Entertaing, but still fake. Thanks.

15. I appreciate this gist of your comment
However, I must say that I've tasted the sweet nectar that is "Storage Wars" and I can easily kill 3 hours watching back-to-back episodes. Fortunately, I have no TV at home and only see it when I visit my folks.

I find the show entirely fascinating, both in the "characters" and the "exciting shit" they find. There is always a little shame about that part of my brain, but I try to supplement it with upmarket fare like "Antiques Roadshow".

12. I give it 6 months until we have a competitive dumpster diving show on A&E
It's just kinda sad in a way.

13. Don't knock dumpster diving until you tried it!!!
:hide:

I only dumpster dived one time in my life but it was out of necessity.

I was leaving for Canada early the next day and was busy the night before both packing and cleaning up my house (was having a cat sitter coming in a couple of times that week).

In the process of all the clean up I accident threw away my passport, which was a new requirement for going to Canada. So around 10pm at night it dawned on me that it was in the dumpster and probably in a bag labeled 'Happy Harry's Drug Store'. It took me about 30 minutes but I found it.

Afterwards I took a 40 minute shower and scrubbed my skin raw.
