Patna - Nine labourers and a brick kiln owner were shot dead as they slept at their work site in the lawless eastern Indian state of Bihar, police said on Saturday.
The gunmen opened fire late Friday as the victims slept at the kiln in Beria More, about 150km south-east of state capital Patna, police spokesperson Neelmani Kumar said.
He suspected the attack was triggered by a dispute between the kiln's owner and business rivals. Kumar said one person was detained over the attack and more were being sought.
