Santa poses with AK-47s at US gun club
Source: The Guardian

Gun club in Arizona offers members opportunity to pose for family photographs with Father Christmas and lots of guns

An Arizona gun club is offering a chance for children and their families to pose for photographs with Father Christmas while holding weaponry such as AK-47 rifles and grenade launchers.

One image shows Santa Claus in a wingback chair with a snowflake background, a Christmas tree behind him and flanked by an $80,000 machine gun and a tripod-mounted rifle. Next to Santa is a man standing behind a boy, who is holding an unloaded AR-15 with an attached grenade launcher.

In another photo, Santa cradles a toddler dressed in camouflage, while a man and woman stand close by with rifles with foldable stocks. In another image, five young women pose with AR-15 and other rifles.

6. Real Guns
The guns used in the photos are not loaded and have had their firing pins removed, and their chambers are regularly cleared to ensure safety

16. I almost choked there...
we have a car dealer down here, and they are using Santa as a car salesman in their commercials. A guy is admiring a truck, and Santa walks up behind him, asking if he likes the truck. He says "Yes, I need that for hunting". Santa asks him what he hunts, the guy says "deer", then he sees the salesman is Santa and changes his response to "fish". I know, it is probably funnier to see than read :)

5. I'm pro 2nd Amendment, so don't say I'm anti-gun
But this picture is very disturbing. I wouldn't want my little ones to see Santa holding a weapon. I think it would sadden and scare them.

26. If you're going to quote it....
quote it right...

“ ...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on HIGH, saying, "O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest BLOW Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy." And the Lord did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu..."skip a bit, brother"... And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to THREE, no more, no less. THREE shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be THREE. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to THREE. Five is right out. Once the number THREE, being the third number, be reached. Then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it." Amen.

35. Which are those?
The ones that disagree with you?

People get photographed with items that indicate activities they enjoy all the time. Nobody gives a shit when people get their kids photographed with their baseball bats, hockey sticks, or lacrosse whatever-the-hells(weapons all).

I think the ritual combat aspect of many "sports" is sick and disturbing, but I would never suggest that people who take part in it are "doomed."

41. A lot of those are Title 2 restricted police/military/government restricted guns.
FWIW, the Minigun and the Uzi are definitely Title 2 restricted weapons (Title 1 civilian Uzi lookalikes can have a shoulder stock or a short barrel but not both). I suspect that the majority of weapons in that pic are restricted Title 2 hardware.

That's sort of like posing with a tank, fighter aircraft, or howitzer; not something you get to be photographed next to everyday. Stick Santa in the pic to make it holiday-ish and send it to all your friends who have never seen a GE/Dillon Aerospace Minigun in person, never mind photographed with one. Either a LE/*.mil supplier lent the hardware, or a very wealthy collector who owns one of the very few pre-'86 Miniguns.

FWIW, I've been photographed with some pretty exotic military aircraft now and then, and I'd gladly put Santa in such a pic as an excuse to send it to friends. :)
