Nuclear Attacks? - American Media in Denial - Public Uninformed

The risks of massive nuclear- or bio-attacks is rising.
And yet — the American Media are largely in a process of denial (or at least downplaying), and the American public has thus been kept largely uninformed.

The latest example is the current Israeli acknowledgement of reports that their armed forces are preparing for a preemptive nuclear strike against nuclear facilities in 4-5 specified locations in Iran. Some detailed plans are described.

The reports are coinciding with an article in today's British Sunday Times, but they are also discussed in the Israeli media and therefore all over the world.

Naturally, the public-relations staff of the Israeli foreign ministry is officially denying these reports, claiming that "the current focus is on diplomacy." However, the prime minister's office and defense and intelligence officials are refusing to comment on the stories.

Remember that Iran's president has openly called for the annihilation of the Israeli state, and that Iranian leaders have just in the last few days indicated that they may well change their plans for "solely peaceful nuclear developments" and move into nuclear weapons capability if they feel themselves threatened by their conceived enemies.

You should also be aware of the fact that the difficult steps in going for nuclear weapons essentially duplicates the development of peaceful-energy production. Thus it is only a rather modest challenge to add military nuclear weapons capability to peaceful nuclear energy capability. In other words, if any government keeps its supportive weapons and delivery development efforts secret, and in fact denies them, it would take that government hardly any extra time to convert peaceful production into weapons production...cont'd

1. he's playing the fear card for a reason:

"In the meantime, too many of our media are almost totally consumed with a phobia to throttle our government's intelligence and surveillance efforts. They act as if we should place our total reliance on maximum legal restrictions, which they call "freedoms" to be pushed ad infinitum, even if that course turns out to be in effect a suicide pact. What the heck — they are not going to be around to apologize, are they?"

3. Has everyone in power forgotten Science 101?

I cannot believe there's even the slightest discussion by powers that be in either the US or Israel about using tactical nuclear weapons, "low-yield" or whatever. What about the radiation? The fallout? How about the fact that it sends a signal to every trigger-happy nuclear power to consider the use of nukes a viable option?

Ugh, going to start reliving my junior high "Day After" and "Threads"-inspired nightmares from the 1980s.
