... or could the Cincy area truly be SO red when the rural counties voted blue?
Well, here's a sampling of how it works in Cincinnati, as per today's Editorial in the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Enquirer staff writer
"Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have made a difference to the world. But the Marines don't have that problem."
President Ronald Reagan may not have originated that line in 1985, but it became his quote, tattooed to the Marine Corps like "Semper Fi" and the "EGA" eagle, globe and anchor. <snipping>
As the rest of us wrestled with our feelings, those heartbroken families set an example. They said their sons were honored to defend their country and fight for freedom. They believe in the cause. So should we. Anything less dishonors their sacrifice.
How ironic that the same week those parents stood strong in the eye of the storm, nearly half of the Second District was ready to wave the white flag and vote for a candidate who wants to pull out of Iraq. More....
Yes, as you can see, never an opportunity lost to insult both the Dem candidate -- an Iraq war veteran himself -- and the "Rural Four" as unpatriotic, even using the deaths of these young soldiers to bang the drum for Bush and his Congressional minions.
Yes, some of you wondered. I never did.
