Is Delay being seriously considered for OMB Director??

What are his qualifications? Is this another one of those "Tommy, you're doing a great job" nominations? What does he know about eocnomics? He was a bug man. An exterminator! And they are considering putting him in charge of our nation's economy? When will it ever end??

Office of Management and Budget. One of the most powerful money positions in the U.S. Government. It's almost as bad as putting a neo-con in charge of an IMF department.

Rove is smart enough to know that if Bush nominated Delay it would cause a huge outcry especially since he is indicted and facing trial. He also couldn't be confirmed for that post.

Bush also doesn't like DeLay. The Bugman isn't part of the priviledged class, and isn't a Bush insider (read loyalist). At most this is the administration raising the possibility just to thumb their noses at the Democrats. They aren't serious, and if they were, the Republicans in the senate wouldn't confirm him. The Repubs breathed a collective sigh of relief when he resigned, thinking it removed DeLay from being the poster boy for the culture of corruption. They don't want him back.

No way would he have a chance at comfirmation to that post, especially in an election year.

Might be a lot of talk about it, but one needs to consider that the junta counts on emotional response from sensible people to dumb ass talking points to divert attention from some REAL problem we need to catch up on. ;)

Yeah, we underestimate Bush's need to circle in the wagons with his conservative Christian base and that is the group DeLay is courting like crazy right now. DeLay is sort of the modern day Jerry Falwell for that group, don't you think?
