http://www.billingsgazette.net/articles/2006/04/22/news/state/55-morrison.txtMorrison said he and most other state insurance commissioners have expressed concerns the Enzi bill "will make insurance rates go up for most small businesses and will leave employees and employers who have conditions like diabetes and heart conditions out in the cold."
In the Morrison ad, the narrator tells how small independent businesses are the backbone of the state.
"For years, Washington politicians have talked about helping small businesses get affordable health insurance for their employees," the narrator says. "But here in Montana, state Auditor John Morrison said, 'Enough with all the talk.' So John Morrison crafted a plan allowing small businesses to come together and purchase health insurance as a group."
The ad says Morrison worked on the plan with lawmakers from both parties and Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer, and "they got it done."
"Just the kind of thing John Morrison will do as our next U.S. senator -- getting drug costs down and financing affordable insurance for our children and families," the narrator says.
*The ad takes a backhanded slap at Burns without ever mentioning his name by saying Morrison will be "a senator with the independence to stand up to the powerful special interests and make Washington work for us for a change."
