Bush's Virile Surge Not Getting Many Takers - Almost 2/3rds Disapprove
Interesting article in McNewspaper (USA Today):

Most say no to Iraq buildup

From the article:

"Those surveyed oppose the idea of increased troop levels by 61%-36%. Approval of the job Bush is doing in Iraq has sunk to 26%, a record low

...

Views on increased troop levels differ sharply by party. Even among Republicans, though, 30% oppose the idea; 67% support it. Independents are against it by nearly 2-to-1. Democrats oppose it, 85%-12%.

1. He's giving Dems an opportunity to refuse funding as well.
He keeps digging the Republican hole deeper and deeper.

10. Remember when it was revealed that the Bush Administration secretly mocks & ridicules Fundies?
I distinctly remember several reputable articles about the current so-called "christian" administration's true feelings about Fundamentalist Christians, the very people at the core of their support....

They said fundies are "nuts", right?

I tried a DU search but came up empty. I will look into finding more supporting information, and if anyone else has anything to say about the hypocrite "christian" GOP administration, and their true feelings about fundies, please post.

3. I overheard one of the guests on Olbermann say the surge was a "set up"

..to somehow rope Democrats into being in a position where rTHUGS can say that they "don't support the troops"

I was doing two things at once and didn't catch who it was, or why they thought the whole thing is a scam they hope will backfire on Democrats.

Anyone catch what they said?

7. No, but what you describe is a plausible theory, I think.
This whole tedious debate about the "surge" seems almost like a do-over of the original vote--you know, the one where several dems voted to let Junior have free rein, and now the dems are blamed for what Junior did, even though it was JUNIOR who did it.

It does seem to me like a political game of some sort.

6. On a positive note? - at least more repugs will be out of jobs come 2008....
but it shouldn't come at the expense of loss of life the US. troops fighting for their belief's in their President. (not this time)

Something is very wrong with this president.

8. The minority who approve of the escalation AKA "surge"
might be thinking,
'Hey, wasn't an increase in troops supposed to be a good idea 2 or 3 years ago? So, an increase in troops should be a good idea now'.

I often try to guess what other people are thinking. I'm just offering my guess about "....WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING!?!"

9. Obviously there are many billions made in Iraq, the VP. used his own former company
to rebuild everything Bush blew up, 18 more months with 170 billion $$$ more be sent on the way to the cash-cow?!! No need to have a degree in business to figure that one out, let's leave that "location" running for as long as we can!
