Queen of Shallow Kathleen Parker's column on Edwards yesterday and my reply

To the Editors of the Orlando Sentinel:

Regarding Kathleen Parker's recent column "John Edwards Death by Bangs":

Leave it to the queen of shallow to reduce a serious discussion of who should lead this country to insulting someone's haircut.

Instead of discussing the actual issues facing voters, Parker chooses to give a megaphone to the slime tactics of Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and anonymous "YouTube" right wing propaganda artists. Like Coulter and Limbaugh, Parker is fresh out of good ideas and disconnected from real people.

Lacking any ideas that appeal to the voters they rely instead on childish schoolyard taunts.

Their attacks are the dead giveaway that they fear Edwards most. They realize that Edwards has a great vision of where this country needs to go and has the rare talent to communicate that vision to the voters while their wanna-be Republican candidates do not.

Like Parker, Coulter, and Limbaugh, Edwards could be focused on getting richer and living the good life by taking cheap shots at other people’s expense.

Instead John is focused on helping others.

John Edwards is focusing on ending poverty. John Edwards is focusing on ending the war in Iraq. John Edwards is focused on ending our dangerous dependence on foreign oil. John Edwards is focused on stopping global warming. John Edwards is focused on providing affordable quality healthcare to all Americans.

Kathleen Parker is focused on the cheap shot.

The Sentinel and its readers can do better than her petty posts. Dump her and find someone new.

she never "focuses" on any issue. Parker usually meanders in her columns much like a sailboat sans rudder and a keel.

as for it being a cheap shot, it is about as dirty as they can get without raising the ire of every woman in America.

That's why I said she was focused on the "cheap shots" and NOT the issues.

And of course it's dirty pool on their part and the timing couldn't have been more inappropriate yesterday.

I call her "the queen of shallow" because every time you think she's hit bottom, she always manages to drain a little more out of the pool.
