Don't hold Kerry's success against him
I have seen a great deal of animosity from other candidate's supporters against Kerry and his supporters. Let's have a little decorum, please. Maybe you are not ready to support him now, but folks, the time is going to come when he is going to need your support. Don't talk about him as though he has the plague. He can BEAT Bush in November.

1. Mark my words
I'll vote for the man, but he'll lose.

2. I'm holding his POSITIONS against him, not his success.
Specifically, his votes on NCLB, the IWR and the Patriot Act and his refusal to apologize for those votes.

10. How can you tell? Apparently, it's better to NOT have your own name on
legislation (if Kerry's to be believed).

Seriously, I just want to know what he's done besides save his political ass in the past five years. To me, he represents what's wrong with the party...capitulating rather than leading. He and Edwards represent the slow death of the party.

6. Time honored Democratic tradition.
shoot the frontrunner. If the guy's winning or popular, that's proof enough that there's something very wrong with him.

:-)

12. Another Dem tradition that seems to be coming back: Telling it like it is.
Kerry voted with Republicans on three recent, vitally important pieces of legislation that 1) caused serious harm to public education nationwide, 2) created the most serious threat to civil liberties this nation has seen since (and perhaps including) Joe McCarthy and 3) given Congressional approval to a President to send our sons and daughters, our parents, our brothers and sisters to die in a foreign country that posed NO real threat to us AT HIS DISCRETION.

...and he refuses to apologize for any of it.

That's telling it like it is, and we need to hear more of it.

(Don't get me wrong. Edwards is guilty of the same things with the added drawback of having no national security credentials)

THAT'S why I think they represent the slow death of the Party. If we keep making decisions like this, we're just choosing the lesser of two evils. That's not the way to effect change.

7. Don't talk about him as though he has the plague...
What about some of your posts blasting Edwards tonight?? "Reeks of insecerity" is hardly a statement of decorum.

8. Just because he claims to be a Democrat does not make it so
His voting record says it all. I'm pushing for Kucinich and Dean and Kerry needs to step down.

And on edit, might I add that at least his records are OPEN, unlike the recently departed Dean.

Look at Kerry's full record for the past couple of decades and call him a Republican. You can't.
