CINCINNATI, OH US PRESIDENT BUSH SPEAKS ABOUT EDUCATION DURING VISIT TO PENNSYLVANIA (2004-02-18) A statewide survey reports that President Bush's approval rating has dipped below 50% for the first time during his presidency. The Ohio Poll's findings were released today, with less than two weeks remaining until the state's March second primary election.
The latest Ohio Poll reported that 49% of Ohioans approved of Bush's job performance, 49% disapproved and 2% had no opinion. That ran close to the 51% approval rating Bush received nationally in a recent Gallup poll.
In April last year, the Ohio Poll found that Bush's job approval rating was 76% as US troops were at war in Iraq. His approval rating in Ohio peaked at 87% in November 2001, weeks after the September 11th terrorist attacks.
