Edwards he would - not sure about with Kerry - I hear they don't get along too well. But JFK and LBJ didn't "Get along" but they needed each other.

1. Spreading your former rivals...

...throughout your administration is fairly unusual. I wouldn't count on our nominee to do so. Bush didn't make McCain supreme dogcatcher. No profit there.

3. Not nearly as much bad blood between Kerry and Dean.

Besides, covert warfare between the WH and the cabinet heads is a Washington tradition. Furthermore, Dean doesn't have a position we'd have to scramble to fill.

Still, its hard to imagine Dean would be happy tied down to some bureaucracy.

2. I see Dean

as keeping his grass roots movement alive. He will try and be an influence on the Democratic Party to stop catering to corporate interests and listen to the people. He will support whoever the nominee is-but if the Dems don't respond to the populist message, look to Howard Dean to lead the beginnings of a new progressive party. At least that is what I hope he does. The Dems have one more chance to change from Republican Lite, and that's with the coming administration. If it doesn't happen, look out in 2008.

4. kerry is allergic to Dean.

Kerry sure does need him but....I think his ego will get in the way of logic.
