Rep. John Lewis to Endorse Kerry

WASHINGTON (AP) -- John Lewis, a Georgia congressman and civil rights leader, will endorse John Kerry's presidential bid Thursday, Lewis' chief of staff said.

Lewis, by far the longest-serving member of the state's congressional delegation, will make the announcement Thursday afternoon at an Atlanta restaurant. Michael Collins, the congressman's top aide, said it was unclear whether Kerry's wife, Teresa, who is campaigning in the state, would attend the endorsement announcement.

Lewis would be the second member of the delegation endorsing the Massachusetts senator, joining Rep. Denise Majette, who announced her choice last month.

he is a war veteran, his fight for civil rights is something incredible. this is a VERY special endorsement for john kerry.

8. CNN showed clip of John Lewis at podium with Teresa Heinz Kerry today

when they announced the John Lewis endorsement of John Kerry, so evidently she was with him, as she is in Atlanta today.

John Lewis is an American hero and the best speaker in Congress. His life story is truly inspirational.
