Kerry / Kucinich in '04
Hey guys and girls

I'm writing from Australia, and could therefore be seen as an outsider that really doesn't have all the info that facilitates an informed position.
However, I do have the advantage of a somewhat objective view, inasmuch as our news sources down here are not as biased, and I don't have to listen to Rush, O'Really et.al.
I first became aware of Sen J.F.Kerry's views when he testified to the senate committee in the early seventies. As an ex-serviceman who had come to see the American war on Vietnam as a crime, I was happily surprised to see a strongly worded statement from Lieu. Kerry challenging the ethics of the war. I had become very angry about the goings on in Vietnam and my opinion of America , which I'd loved since childhood, was under severe challenge.
Since then, whenever I spotted an article about Sen Kerry, I was keen to follow his progress.
Now he's up for the big fight, and I think he's up to it.
I know I'm being unrealistic when I support Dennis Kucinich for V.P, but I think he also has done great work for America - that is ALL Americans, not just a rich interest group, and would be the best option for a balanced team.
The big challenges, as I see them, are -
1) Ensuring a fair vote with electronic voting.
2) Convincing Americans to exercise their Democratic right to vote.
3) Counteracting the lies spread by the Murdoch news group and it's partners in crime.
If anyone is organizing any action on these issues, I would like to help.

God (no definition) bless

1. Would Kucinich accept that?
If he would, I'd lose all respect for him, because he would just be putting a progressive stamp on a serve-the-rich two-faced administration like Clinton's was. So far, Kerry seems wiser than that.

2. Welcome wal!
:hi:

just want to add that you are not being unrealistic to have noticed what Dennis K has done for America. Sad tho that many here in US fail to, or don't take his candidacy seriously.

But he's in the run for the long haul, and has my support til November.

peace,
dp

3. No way, no way, no way
Dennis and Kerry are so completely different in every way, that there's no way this match would work. Dennis has much to accomplish, and cannot afford to hide his light under a bushel for a number of years.

If Dennis wanted power, then, yes, he could probably put everything important aside and be submissive for 4 or 8 years with the hope that he would then be the nominee, and ascend to the presidency at that point. But, that's not Dennis... not in any way, shape or form. Maybe that's what's so hard to understand.... he's not after power. He's after creating change. That would not be able to happen by serving under Kerry, the anti-change candidate.

4. Not that different

Both are solid liberals. Oh, except for the fact that Dennis Kucinich has not always supported abortion rights like Kerry has, and Dennis voted for the flag burning amendment while Kerry voted against. Kerry is more socially liberal than Dennis.

5. First off, Kerry won't take him...
Second of all, he's much better off on his own. I'd love to see him as Speaker of the House or at least minority leader for the time being but I don't think that will happen. I think his best bet is to run for US Senate, where he should be able to get pleanty of national attention.
