Hillary's Political Tourette's
Things that make you go hmmmm. I'd forgotten about these faux pas; I hope she's learned to think before she releases her 'inner monologue'. And yes, the flame suit is in tact, but just remember, she said it!

http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_plank/archive/2007/12/07/hillary-s-political-tourette-s-syndrome.aspx

Hillary's Political Tourette's

Before she developed her famous campaign discipline, there was one thing about Hillary Clinton that used to render me utterly apopleptic: She has something akin to political Tourette's Syndrome. Lord knows, it can't be easy to have your any stray word worked-over by a 24/7 media, but she still stood out for occasionally blurting out surprisingly inappropriate sentiments.

For example, in May 2006 she blustered, apropos of nothing, that young people today "think work is a four-letter word," prompting an angry call from her daughter. On Martin Luther King, Jr., Day in 2006, she fumed that "the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about." Mercifully, Hillary managed to get her inner monologue under control in time for primary season.

But now, with Obama's poll numbers rising (kids these days ...), I can't help but wonder if we're seeing a relapse. How else to explain her campaign's irrelevant, tone-deaf attack on Barack Obama's kindergarten aspirations? How else to explain her less-than-tactful remark that similar hit-jobs are "the fun part" of campaign season?

Maybe, under pressure, she's again lost her ability to discriminate between insults that make sense and comments that hover somewhere between absurd and offensive.

7. They have nothing else
Which is why they have to keep referring to a joke as an "attack".

I hope when Obama is President that he won't be as offended when he squares off with Ahdmadinejad.

One wrong joke and we could have a war on our hands.

47. Watching hillary
for 7 years from New York shows nothing but appeasing the bushits from hillary and operatives. Musta thought that's what the mainstream America wanted in a president. They sold their souls for would be support from people who don't pay attention except from soundbites. Too bad the Iraqis and the American Soldiers were victims of their schemes cause I don't give a damn if hillary ever had a soul or not.

48. John Kerry once flubbed a joke.
Hillary wasted no tine assembling the Press and joined the Republicans (she does that a lot) in self-righteously demanding that Kerry publicly apologize.
Not a pretty sight.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,226584,00.html

Don't you think that Hillary should publicly apologize for her bad joke, especially in light of how she attacked Kerry for his?

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

She didn't ask Kerry to apologize, and she certainly didn't make a web page about it and milk it for weeks.

Sorry if you don't like the content, but I don't like a lot of crap I see on here either.

The New Republic
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The New Republic (TNR) is an American magazine of opinion published twice per month (published weekly before March 2007) and with a circulation between 40,000 and 65,000. 12. a similar piece could be posted about every single candidate
in the race. They've all made bloopers. And actually, it's kind of funny that you agree with the dope who wrote this. Clinton is actually one of the more scripted and on point candidates to have run in quite a while- and that's one of the things I find least appealing about her. You know who really has that kind of problem? Howard Dean. He was famed in VT for his ability to chew on his foot. Joe Biden's that way too- and I like them both.

22. I dunno, the more I read of your posts(OP), the more I wonder about you...
For many younger folk today, including those recently graduated from our nation's colleges and universities, work--the work presently available to them--is a four letter word.

For many more recent high school grads, work is even more so. If you don't know that, then just exactly what do you know.

Instead of your constant sniping at Hillary, why not tell us how great your own preferred candidate is? I am tending more and more to think of you more as 'Babble On' than what you use.

Tell us the positives of your own choice and quit the constant war with Hillary. You don't have to like her and you certainly don't have to vote for her, but so far in our camp, she is the one who has planned her campaign well and is following her plan.

Compare her campaign with the campaigns of Edwards(promises a chicken in every pot and a model T in every barn) and Obama who has tied himself visibly to the religious right and now perhaps, Lieberman. Neither of these gents can accomplish 1/10th of what they have promised.

Is Hillary perfect? No, none of our candidates are. But, they are a damn sight better than the Keystone Kops of the opposition party.

28. And I think you're mischaracterizing what Clinton said regarding work.
Why would her own daughter chastize her? As for me sniping at Clinton, it could be a reaction to, say, this?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3809921

And please do me a favor; if you don't like my posts, don't read them. There is nothing in this OP but a few quotes of hers; she said 'em, not me.

And I've often enumerated my reasons for not liking Clinton. You're right, no one is perfect. But this board is for discussion and sharing. I spend a lot of time trying to find articles to inform; I did it way before the primaries and will probably do it long after the election, unlike many 'fresh' faces I've seen around lately. I'm allowed to pick what I post if I stay within the guidelines, and I try to do that. It's just too bad not everyone can be pleased.

Finally, I'm leaning towards Obama though am grateful we have several good Dems that I could live with. And one, not so much.

us articles on hillary..just refreshing what hillary has been up to for the last 7 years. Mostly, it's because hillary enabled the bushit policies over all these years that many of us don't want her to be our candidate but also, hillary is a backstabber and a liar. If that's fine with you..so be it.

All the young people I know..work their asses off at what ever they can find..and Chelsea was pissed at her mom, too. So your opinion on young people's work ethic is noted.

41. I hate to be overly PC here, but I can't stand the references to Tourette Syndrome
Edited on Sat Dec-08-07 08:08 PM by mzmolly
every time someone utters bullshit or an obscenity. TS RARELY involves swearing and/or inappropriate commentary, and it primarily effects CHILDREN. Most kids basically outgrow the disorder by adulthood.

If Hillary is to be called on something, I wish people wouldn't drag in a neurological disorder to do it.

More about Tourette Syndrome:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourette_syndrome

Tourette's is no longer considered a rare condition, but it may not always be correctly identified because most cases are classified as mild. Between 1 and 11 children per 1,000 have Tourette's; as many as one in a hundred people may have tic disorders,<2><3> with the more common tics of eye blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing, and facial movements. People with Tourette's have normal life expectancy and intelligence. The severity of the tics decreases for most children as they pass through adolescence, and extreme Tourette's in adulthood is a rarity. Notable individuals with Tourette's are found in all walks of life.<4>

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled Hillary bashing ...
