Sen. Conrad to campaign for Obama tomorrow, says country needs a uniter
Washington Post

North Dakota Sen. Kent Conrad, who in 2002 was one of the 23 senators who voted against giving President Bush the authority to use military force against Iraq, today endorsed Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and announced that he would campaign on his behalf in Iowa Sunday.

"I believe that events really require all of us to stand up and be counted," he said Saturday during a telephone conference call, according to an AP report. "He is somebody that brings people together. He unites rather than divides, and I think that's very important for the country right now," Conrad said. "He has the unusual ability to inspire and to lift people to be better ... That is a rare skill, and I think something that's much needed."

Conrad chairs the Senate Budget Committee and is the second senator to endorse the Illinois Democrat, the first being the other member of the Illinois delegation, Sen. Dick Durbin -- who also voted against the Iraq War. This is the first time Conrad, who was elected to the Senate in 1986, has endorsed in a presidential primary contest, he said today.

Unite the people with single payer health insurance,
their civil & human rights, and hope for a secure financial future and then let's talk about the rest of this bs.

I'm sorry, but you just can't cozy up with neocons and theocrats. Reverse 8 years of murderous war and bad policies then have tea with them if you want.
